Origami Quilts

Origami is an ancient Japanese art form. Oru means “to fold”, and kami means “paper”. These quilts are one-of-a-kind originals and are entirely and meticulously handmade. Despite the appearance there is no tape or glue involved; each piece is locked together through intricate, precise, and careful folding.

Special orders are welcomed; contact Lisette for different pattern, theme, style, color, paper, and framing and matting options. Quilts can also be made using customer paper or frames.

Origami art comes in a multitude of different displays, for example, these traditional japanese dolls are captured in 4x6 picture frames.

These quilts come in numerous frames, varying in shape, size, color and style. The circle star quilt is compositied of  flower/tye dye paper and is framed with a green circular frame measuring 3.5 inches in diameter.

The star quilt (left) measures 10 x 10 x 2 inches. Pink four-petaled flowers + crosses on a black background (right) can be arranged in various fashions, measures16.5 x 12.5 x 1 inches.

Experiementing with different displays 3D origami became possible through trial and error. Eventually this wonderful design was born.

A variation of the double cross pattern with multi-colors and black 180 connectors.

A multi colored pastel quilt (left) is a the windmill quilt and measures 20.5 x 16.5 x 1 inches. The design in red (right) was a custom piece for a couple as a wedding gift measuring 20.5 x 16.5 x 1 inches

The teardrop Coca-Cola quilt (left) is an example of a themed quilt, displayed in a floating frame and measures 15 x 12 x 1 inches. The octagon quilt (right) demonstartes how a different pattern can produce a different look. Perfect for the Mickey enthusiast!

Above are double crosses + crosses, arranged different to display a completely fresh design. Both measure 20.5 x 16.5 x 1 inches.

Both sides of a blooming flower can be displayed, depending on your preference. This piece measures 25 x 25 x 1 inches.
